Smart Fingerprint Jewelry Safe Box with Hidden Keyhole, Leather Steel Design

Naught as a Christmas gift for my Brother n law. It’s small enough to fit on his side table. We had bought one for ourselves.

This safe is well made and nicely finished. It is made of sheet metal .045” thick which is folder at all of the exposed areas to make it rigid and strong. The exterior of my unit is painted in a textured medium gray paint. The front of the drawer and the top of the box are covered with a matching gray leather. It’s probably faux leather, but it looks good. The drawer slides on high quality, ball bearing drawer slides similar to those used in kitchen cabinetry. They do allow the drawer to be removed from the unit. The drawer is held closed by a sturdy metal loop which is retained by a metal claiming device. This mechanism would be difficult for an unauthorized person to access. It does however I pace the interior space of the drawer. The drawer is 15 1/2” wide, 11 1/8 inches from to back and 4” deep. It is covered in a velvet like material.
In use, pressing an authorized finger tip on the reader results in a quiet click and the drawer slides open a couple of inches. I programmed several fingers and they all worked well and no unauthorized fingers worked.
A couple of items to note. This safe is intended to be mounted by screw holes in the bottom or sides. Mounting screws are provided. There are no holes in the top. Also, these are four exposed screws in the bottom at the locking mechanism, so leaving the bottom exposed may be unwise.
The box comes locked and without batteries. As delivered, attaching the provided USB-A to USB-C cable to a 5V (USB-A) power supply and the USB-C to the bottom of the handle/fingertip reader will allow opening with any fingertip. After programming, this only works with authorized fingertips.
While programming I found that each of the five required fingertip presses was acknowledged by a LED light. However the instructions indicated that the final press would also show a green light. My unit did not do this but the programming was complete after the fifth touch.
Overall I am very pleased with this unit. I would have given it a five star rating if the instructions had been better.
One final note on security. I have used several boxes of this type and this one appears to be as good as any, but do not expect it to stand up to a motivated thief who can spend some time and create a lot of noise while attacking it. That would be an unreasonable ask.

While biometric type safes are expensive, at first, I had concerns about the asking price. In the end...totally worth it.

This safe is far larger than I anticipated. The inside is roomy with a moveable jewelry tray and space underneath for papers, valuables, or 2A items. The outside of the safe has the appearance of being wrapped in ivory colored leather, but the safe is metal.

The instructions are seriously lacking and confusing; however, I was able to figure the safe out. It comes with two skeleton type keys that you use to initially access the interior so you can install four AA batteries (not included). In order to access the keyhole, you lift the handle and remove the screws holding the fingerprint reader.

I installed the batteries and tried to follow the instructions to set the fingerprints into the reader. Mine worked initially, but had to be re-added. The instructions are difficult to follow.

I did not take off stars for the instructions because the safe is heavy and durable and well-constructed. It can blend in as a built-in or you can even just set it out in the open because it doesn't scream "I am a safe steal me!". The leather-like wrap look is very pretty and fits in as a neutral element in the room without taking away from aesthetics.
